PH sends first fresh Carabao Mango shipment to Canada, expands global market reach
Fresh Philippine Carabao mangoes have entered the Canadian market for the first time through a commercial shipment sent to Toronto on June 3, marking another step in expanding the country’s agricultural exports. The Department of Agriculture said the development supports ongoing efforts to open new international markets for Filipino farm products and reduce dependence on traditional export destinations. The shipment was highlighted during a send-off event at the Philippine Airlines cargo terminal in Pasay City, where officials described it as a significant boost for the country’s premium fruit exports. It also builds on earlier efforts that included the export of fresh mangoes to Rome, reflecting continued initiatives to strengthen the global presence of Philippine agricultural products. The Department of Agriculture added that it is actively promoting a broader range of high-value crops, such as bananas, coconuts, cacao, and other tropical produce, as part of its strategy to enhance export growth and support farmers.
