DepEd: Teachers not required to shoulder costs for Brigada Eskwela; Govt funds to support school prep

In line with Brigada Eskwela, the Department of Education clarified that teachers are not required to shoulder any personal expenses in the preparation of schools for the opening of classes. The Department emphasized that school readiness initiatives must be supported through the School Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE), local government units, and partner organizations, consistent with the existing No Collection Policy. DepEd further reiterated that Brigada Eskwela is a whole-of-community initiative and not a fundraising activity, underscoring that it is intended to mobilize the support of local government units, stakeholders, partners, and volunteers in ensuring school preparedness.
